Meteorological
Services Division
The
Meteorological Services Division sets requirements,
implements, and manages day-to-day programs
of weather prediction and warnings in the Region,
and weather services provided by all weather
service offices located within the Region. Specifically,
the Meteorological Services Division is responsible
for management of public, aviation, marine,
and fire weather forecast programs; for the
proper utilization of guidance products generated
by the National Centers for Environmental Prediction;
for developing service packages at all National
Weather Service offices in the Region; and for
monitoring and evaluating the day-to-day quality
of services, predictions, and warnings. The
Division oversees the implementation of programs
designed to display and disseminate various
types of weather information, and oversees the
deployment of resources as may be required to
cope with the changing demands for weather prediction
and warning services within the Region.
