......SPECIAL WEATHER OBSERVING RESOURCES

Special weather observing platforms were deployed specifically to improve weather and river forecasts for the Green River Basin.  The Atmospheric River Observatories help forecasters monitor the flow of moisture-laden air into the Cascades.  Fifteen new hourly-reporting rain gages were installed starting in November 2009 to monitor the amount of water falling over and near the river basin.  Links to the new weather observing platforms follow:

  • Rainfall Accumulations
    • Fifteen new hourly reporting rain gages were installed specifically to help with Green River forecasting.  They are:  Auburn, Cedar Lake, Landsburg, Lester, Howard Hanson Reservoir, Palmer, Mud Mountain Dam, Enumclaw, Buckley, McMillin Reservoir, Lester, Big Soos Ck.-Meridian Heights, and Mt. Rainier National Park at the Carbon River, White River, and Paradise Ranger Stations.
